John L Rodabaugh II is a highly experienced attorney who knows the ins and outs of the Prosecutor’s office because for over 16 years he was the Prosecutor for the City of Snohomish, Marysville and several other cities.  John has handled over 50,000 criminal cases in his career.  Now John is dedicated to defending people charged with criminal and traffic offenses.

John graduated from Michigan State University and Thomas M. Cooley Law School. In January 1993 he received his Juris Doctor, Cum Laude and was on the Dean’s list, Honor Roll, Law Review and received 5 American Jurisprudence Prize Awards for Academic Excellence in Advanced Trial Workshop, Appellate Practice and other courses. John is a Military Veteran having served in the Navy while attending the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis.

John’s law experience includes working in the Law Office of Barton Jones Inc. PS, as the Public Defender for Walla Walla, the Clallam County Prosecutor’s Office in Port Angeles, Kiethly, Weed and Graafstra Inc. PS as an Associate Attorney/City Prosecutor for the City of Snohomish & Marysville, and for the last 17 years he has operated the Law Office of John L Rodabaugh II serving as the City Prosecutor for several cities including Snohomish, Marysville, Black Diamond, Milton & Fife.

John is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and was admitted to practice law in June of 1993, license number 22736.  John has also been admitted to practice in the Federal District Courts in Western Washington.

John’s pro bono work has included a term on the School Commission for St. Thomas More School in Lynnwood, time as a volunteer attorney for PAWS where he received an award for his work trying to end animal cruelty, and John currently serves as the Vice-President of the Washington Arms Collectors.

John supports our military forces past and present through work with the Wounded Warrior Project, this work is dedicated to the memory of his good friend SSG Christopher J. VanDerHorn, who was killed in Iraq on January 1, 2006.

John understands police procedure.  He has been an instructor at the Basic Law Enforcement Academy teaching Court Room Skills and Procedures to police officers.  He has taught Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Use of Force and Constitutional Law for over 6 years at a Reserve Police Officer Academy.  John has trained hundreds of Officers in investigative techniques and report writing in varied topics including DUI Investigation and Domestic Violence Investigation.  John has studied Homicide investigation with nationally recognized expert Robert Keppel and has hundreds hours of police training in DUI, Domestic Violence, Use of Force, Firearms Identification and Use, Defensive Tactics and TASERs.  Over the years John has given many training sessions to Law Enforcement on legal updates and changes in case law.
